Iraq’s Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadel discussed on Wednesday with a delegation from the China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE) on the prospects of funding strategic projects within the Iraqi-Chinese oil for projects framework agreement.

The Chinese EXIM bank has financed several large and important power projects such as Rumaila, Shatt Al-Basra, and Maysan plants, state-run Iraqi News Agency reported.

The Iraqi minister confirmed the government's desire to develop cooperation with China.

On the other hand, the SINOSURE delegation showed intentions to support infrastructure projects in Iraq.

Iraq plans to build combined cycle power plants, solar power stations, etc., the report said.
