In line with the company's CSR strategy towards supporting cultural initiatives

Kuwait - Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced its main sponsorship of the '1001 Inventions' Exhibition; considered one of the world's leading educational projects. The exhibition is organized for the first time in Kuwait in collaboration with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and the Scientific Center, and is held under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Subah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Subah until the 7th of March.
 
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of HE the Minster of Education and Minster of Higher Education Dr. Badr Al Essa and the Scientific Center's Chairman Mijbil Al Mutawa, along with Zain Kuwait's Chief Commercial Officer Mariam Ali.

The 1001 Inventions Exhibition is one of the world's largest portable exhibitions, being hosted in several countries around the world including the United Kingdom, the United States, Sweden, the Netherlands, Turkey, UAE, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where it attracted more than 6 million visitors.

Initially conceived in the United Kingdom, '1001 Inventions' is an organization that aims at spreading awareness of the Islamic heritage, culture, and civilization on an international level. The exhibition aims at spreading awareness about the importance of science and culture in the progress of nations though highlighting the inventions and achievements of Muslim scientists in a simple and educational way.  

The activities of this project will not only be limited to the exhibition, but will also feature the showing of the documentary film "1001 Inventions and The Library of Secrets", starring Sir Ben Kingsley, in addition to hands-on workshops, educational materials and electronic games, and a number of theatrical performances by a group of young Kuwaitis all of which shed the light on the Islamic civilization. A number of educational tours for students from various schools in Kuwait will be organized to reach out to the maximum number of students.

Zain keenness to be part of this internationally acclaimed exhibition stems from its firm belief in the importance of projects that leave a unique cultural and scientific print in the community. Zain spares no efforts in supporting such projects that aim at enriching people's lives with valuable information that encourage the fields of science and scientific inventions and development in the region, in addition to contributing to the overall wellbeing of the society.

This sponsorship also comes under Zain's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, which the company adopts to affirm its support to educational and cultural initiatives that cater to youth in Kuwait and contribute to the further progress of the nation. ENDS
