Manama, Bahrain, 3rd February 2009: Organised by Young Arab Leaders Bahrain and delivered by globally renowned Global Strategist and Policy Advisor, Dr. Partha Ghosh, "Unlocking Innovative Leadership", first in the series of workshops begins today.
This evening Dr. Ghosh will address invited guests, comprising of CEO's and VIPs from different sectors at the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research, Muharraq, 19:00 hrs onwards. The second and third days of the workshop will be continued at Coral Beach Club between 09:00 - 12:30 for young professionals who have just started their careers a few years back.
Commenting on the rationale behind the Workshop, Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al-Khalifa, Chairman of YAL Bahrain said, "With new strategies being adopted and innovative ideas being put into place, there is always room for improvement, not just within our own economies but also across the wider global economy."
Mohammed Zainalabideen, CEO of Zain said:"At Zain Bahrain, we believe strongly in the power of young people to positively manage change and take forward their communities. That is why we are delighted to be sponsoring the Young Arab Leaders Forum that will take place in March - it is a great opportunity for strong and idealistic men and women from across the Arab world to share experiences, learn from each other and mentor the next generation. We shall have six of our own promising Zain Bahrain team-members participating in this milestone event and believe that it will be a great learning curve for them on handling change and making a positive impact on their society."
Tamkeen's (Labour Fund) Chief Executive, Mr. Abdulellah Al Qassimi said, "Tamkeen is delighted to be a sponsor of the YAL event that will harness the expertise of a renowned speaker like Dr. Ghosh to unlock the dynamism of young Arab men and women. At Tamkeen, our work centres around opening new doors of opportunity and promoting innovation and leadership, so we understand the importance of new ideas and concepts for the future prosperity of a community and the world. We are sure that the Forum will inspire young Arab leaders and go beyond the immediate circle of high achievers to generate a buzz among people whom they mentor as well."
Talal Al Zain, Chief Executive of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company said, "The Young Arab Leaders programme is an excellent initiative to develop and nurture local talent which will support the future prosperity of Bahrain. Mumtalakat is proud to be a sponsor of the programme, which is doing so much to ensure that our nation has the right intellectual capital and leadership skills in place to enable us to compete in the increasingly knowledge based, global economy."
Today, Partha will talk about The New Capitalism: The Role of the Middle East in the World Economy.
The second day of the workshop will focus on Strategic Problem Solving: Creating and Realising the Universe of Possibilities
As knowledge intensity of the global economy increases, life cycles of products and services become shorter, and velocity at which new business models emerge become faster. In such an environment, more than before, strategic problem solving capacity of organisations will increasingly differentiate winners from losers.
Leadership of businesses will be required to make complex and difficult choices often in a very rapid fashion to enable swift and intelligent decision making. This session will explore how companies could build a full array of skills such as - sensing weak signals,
processing information "real time" to quickly structure relevant choices and simulate the alternative scenarios-enabling strategic actions which are competitive and self correcting.
The third day of the workshop will see Dr.Ghosh talking On Arts and Sciences of Becoming a Leader: Mastering the dynamics of 3PIs.
This particular programme is built on a fundamental belief that each individual is born with unique qualities which he/she must find ways to identify, nurture, fine tune, and culture in enabling a meaningful and enriching role in the community he/she belongs.
The workshop on Practice of Leadership is aimed to help the participants listen to their inner voice, uncover the power within, see the dots which are often invisible in the normal state of being, and then help examine how the inner qualities can be mobilized to engage with the mega possibilities around.
The programme will enable the crystallization and purification process of an individual's personality along three critical "power dimensions", which Partha Ghosh terms the 3PIs- (1) power of intellect, (2) the power of interconnectivity, (3) the power of intuition, which together defines the radiance and the glow of a person's personality. The programme will help the participants innovatively bridge the "universe within" with the "universe outside".
Zain and Tamkeen (Labour Fund) are the main partners of this event, and are titled as "Power Partners". Additionally, YAL Bahrain has the support of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company as the Platinum Strategic Partner, Weber Shandwick as the Strategic Public Relations Strategic Partner and Euro Motors as the Ground Transport Partner.
The Young Arab Leaders-Bahrain is an organization whose members have a track-record of success and have reached high levels of achievements. These members, who
are young senior executives coming from different sectors and organizations, value the importance of empowering youth and hence volunteer to create and implement such unique events.
The Young Arab Leaders, with the help of programs such as the "YAL Power Speaker Series", try to provide unique opportunities for young Bahrainis to identify their strengths, discover their abilities and further cultivate them. Their goal is to further educate participating delegates on how to achieve astonishing success, and how to become catalysts and aspiring leaders in the ever-changing, globalized world.
