Fiera di Vicenza presents the Italian and European gold and jewellery industry and the most avant-garde gold-processing technologies at the Dubai International Jewellery Week

21 - 24 November 2012 Dubai World Trade Center

Fiera di Vicenza is taking the very best of Italian and European jewellery to the 17th edition of the Dubai International Jewellery Week scheduled to take place from 21st to 24th November in the Za'abeel Hall inside the ultra-modern Dubai World Trade Center.

With its 271 exhibitors from 23 different countries and more than 20,000 visitors, the event is a coveted appointment for retailers, buyers and producers from the United Arab Emirates area, the Gulf Countries, the Middle East and Africa, as well as a showcase for final consumers.

32 companies from the main Italian gold districts, 10 European gold and jewellery companies from Belgium, France, Great Britain, Greece, Lithuania  and Spain, together with 14 producers of precious metal processing technologies, will be given privileged access onto this strategic market, a commercial crossroads between the African and Asian Continents, where the per capita GDP is one of the highest in the world and where the large majority of the population enjoys a high lifestyle.

For the very first time, the Italian and European gold and jewellery system will be making a coordinated presentation at Dubai under the directorship and creative management of Fiera di Vicenza and with the exclusive VICENZAORO Italian Club, VICENZAORO European Club and T-GOLD International formats, which promote the most authentic features of Italian-made products, European fine jewellery and the most highly developed state-of-the-art technologies in the sector.

Participating at the Dubai International Jewellery Week is the result of a partnership with the Dubai World Trade Centre, which will see Fiera di Vicenza acting as exclusive intermediary for Europe and Italy, charged with the task of coordinating the European Union exhibitors at the international trade fair pole in Dubai and generating innovative content to be displayed during the event. The aim is to achieve maximum visibility and promote Made in Italy and Made in Europe in all the jewellery business segments.

Trendvision Jewellery+Forecasting will also be making an appearance in Dubai. Fiera di Vicenza's independent and permanent research centre specialising in jewellery and luxury goods trends will be staging a special presentation event in partnership with the Dubai World Trade Center. Trendvision carries out research activities throughout the world and produces tools like the Trend Book, which analyses, 18 months ahead of time, the megatrends that will be influencing contemporary jewellery design, production and retail distribution in the future.

At 8.30 pm on 22nd November, in the exclusive location of the Layali Tent lounge on the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel beach, the exhibiting companies at the Dubai International Jewellery Week, together with buyers and representatives from the international press, will be given the chance to have a first-hand view of the Trend Vision project and learn of the predictions outlined in the TrendBook 2014+ world jewellery forecasting guide. The Executive Director of Fiera di Vicenza, Corrado Facco, and Trixee Loh, the Senior Vice President of the Dubai Trade Center, will be intervening at the long-awaited for event, which will provide indications on how to capture signals from the evolved consumer and in which direction business opportunities should be heading.

Dubai, with 360 tons of gold imported every year amounting to a value of about 3.3 billion dollars (source: Dubai Multicommodities Centre), is the number one gold importer and consumer in the Gulf. The United Arab Emirates are fundamental partners of the Italian jewellery industry and represent the second market in terms of value with about 670 million Euros in 2011 and 236 million in the first quarter of 2012 alone (source: Istat), more than 13% of all Italian gold and jewellery exports.
