Accolade demonstrates commitment to quality at all levels

Abu Dhabi - 10 December 2011 - UNITRA METS Group, a subsidiary of ADIC Beverage Distribution Company, is pleased to announce that it has successfully achieved certification towards both ISO and HACCP standards - a recognition it says demonstrates the company's commitment to meeting globally recognized quality management system requirements and regulations.

The Group was awarded ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management certification as well as HACCP 2006 standard certification for its operations across the UAE within the scope of "Sales, marketing, warehousing and the distribution of food and beverages". The assessment, which was done by third-party auditor Bureau Veritas, verifies that all the operational key processes, policies and procedures are continually monitored and improved to support the Group's operations.

Said UNITRA METS Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Wasfi Kaso: "Achieving ISO 9001:2008 and HACCP Certification is an important milestone for the Group, and illustrates our strong commitment to quality at all levels of our organization."

Emphasizing that obtaining accreditation promotes outputs and raises the confidence in an organization, Kaso added: "Customers want to be confident that they are doing business with an organization that can consistently meet or exceed their needs and deliver in a timely manner. As such, we are continually focused on process improvement, which fosters increased consistency and efficiency. In addition, we comply with all the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and are driven by our core values, guiding principles and our company's mission and vision."

The Group's Chief Financial Officer Ms. Shobna Gupta added: "Successfully completing the rigorous process required for certification is evidence that our entire organization is devoted to continually improving our quality management systems and to delivering the highest level of service to our customers and suppliers

The ISO 9001:2008 standard is a set of quality practices that ensures the use of effective processes that are consistently monitored and continually improved, while HACCP standards ensure compliance through hazard identification, risk management and control measures within organizations.
