Domestic Tourism rises up to 100% during Spring breaks

Tourism is one of the pillars of Egypt's economy constituting 11.3%of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 14.4%of the total foreign currency income and 45% of total service exportation as well as 12.6%of Egypt's labor power according to HishamZaazou's, Minister of Tourism, statement in the Annual Meeting of the Federation of Polish tourism companies 
 . Recent statistics published in Al Anadool News Agency show a rise in hotel reservation of up to 90% at Sharm Al-Sheikh during holidays, as beaches attracted many Arab tourists, mainly from Lebanon and Jordan, to spend their Spring Break and Easter there. In addition to this, about 308,000 tourists visited Red Sea in March 2014, including about 239,000 from 21 European countries who visited Hurghada in the same month. 
 
Addressing the importance of tourism in getting Egypt's economy back on its feet, many companies have started to launch campaigns to activate domestic tourism. Domestic tourism witnessed a remarkable growth as statistics show a rise of up to 100% during Spring break in Red Sea and South Sinai.  
 
Tourism companies also wanted a piece of the pie and started to  attract Egyptians living abroad, as well as foreigners, by offering irresistible packages for enjoyable and unforgettable vacations in Egypt.
