Healthy business in Q4 paves way for new outlets, fleet increase and service offerings

Kuwait City, Kuwait - 14 January 2009, Thrifty Car Rental, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: DTG), today announced the appointment of Mohammed Al-Rashed as General Manger for its operations in Kuwait.

Al- Rashed, a Kuwaiti national, brings more than 13 years of experience in the car rental industry to Thrifty, all which have been in senior positions in Kuwait. Al- Rashed's key role is to drive the establishment of the Thrifty brand in Kuwait by overseeing the overall marketing and activities of the firm, maximizing profitability, forecasting operational performance results, as well as identifying and coordinating strategic business opportunities in the country.

Thrifty Kuwait recently added two locations in the Palm Beach Hotel and the Al-Ghanim Service Center, bringing the total number of Thrifty locations in Kuwait to four, including the counters in the Kuwait International Airport and the downtown area. This has led to an increase in fleet size of 10%.

Thrifty has also increased its service offerings in Kuwait by adding GPS, car-with-driver, child car seats, and 30-minute maintenance to its portfolio.

To celebrate the new locations, Thrifty is offering up to 15% off their car rentals in Kuwait, and special offers to the Palms Beach hotel guests.
