Club targets local tour operators, travel agents; boosts international, regional profile

Dubai, May 1, 2005: The Aviation Club, Dubai's number one place for fitness, leisure, dining and entertainment, is exhibiting at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) this week for the second consecutive year, with the aim of targeting inbound tour operators, while also boosting its profile within the global and regional travel industry.

"This is the second time we have chosen to exhibit at ATM. We are here to expose The Aviation Club and its facilities to the local market - whether travel agents, tour operators, or general public," said Gerard Kearney, General Manager of The Aviation Club.

"Specifically we are here to launch our new SPA under the name and style of AKARU and to promote our diverse food and beverage offering, as well as our conference and banqueting services.

"The SPA will offer a wide variety of the latest face and body treatments, for both ladies and gentlemen.  Some exclusive treatments newly arrived to Dubai, will be revealed during the opening of the AKARU SPA, treatments available will use a blend of natural remedies with the latest technology, offered by SPA specialists from across the globe awaiting to treat specific individual needs," added Kearney.

The Aviation Club can cater for corporate and private functions, from as small as 30 people and up to 600 - with the option of four different venues - the Majlis meeting room next to the tennis stadium, the elegant setting of the Rainbow Room and pool deck, or al fresco at The Cellar rooftop. We are able to tailor F&B packages for our clients according to their individual requirements - from the minute we receive the request, we will provide a package and quotation within 24 hours.

The Club also has plans in place to launch a new sales and marketing campaign, attracting more members to the new state-of-the-art leisure facilities.

The expansion of The Aviation Club over the years mirrors the march of Dubai. Each new venture features a strong design bias, promising to add another dimension to its ever-increasing list of attractions.

"All our developments combined with our service attitude help to achieve our goal to be known as the best venue in town - whether it's for dining, fitness or entertainment," continued Kearney.

The Aviation Club, which includes the popular and award-winning watering hole The Irish Village, as well as the quaint restaurant complex Century Village, is centrally located in the Garhoud area of Dubai in close proximity to the airport.
