Dubai, UAE, April 18, 2007 - Tekla ME launches its annual main version of Tekla Structures building information modeling (BIM) software. Tekla Structures 13 is published and demonstrated in the 12th International Oil, Gas & petrochemical Exhibition 2007 in Tehran International Fair Ground, Tehran, Iran.

"To follow our users' wishes, we have concentrated on improving the existing functionality in the software," says Ragnar Wessman, Director of Tekla Structures Product Management at Tekla Building & Construction. "With Tekla Structures 13, users can concentrate more on the business instead of spending time mastering their software tool."

Tekla Structures 13 is easier to learn and use than before, including, for example, an automatic user feedback mechanism and enhanced, more informative on-screen tooltips. Modeling tools as well as ready-for-use structural components have been added and improved, and program output, such as drawings and reports needed in building and construction, have been enhanced and further customized. Utilization of the structural 3D model and reference models in building and construction projects is now more effective.

"To better serve our customers and to increase efficiency in releasing quality versions of Tekla Structures, we have also decided to streamline our release policy," Wessman adds. "Starting with this version 13.0, Tekla will move from releasing three versions to releasing two versions per year: one main and one intermediate release of the software. Moreover, Tekla Structures software just received the IFC 2X3 certification, which means that Tekla is able to produce high-quality interfaces with other important industry software. Tekla supports .NET technology and the new Windows Vista operating system," he reminds.

Says Tahir Sharif, Area Director of Tekla Middle East: "Version 13 is a clear indication where all building processes have been integrated to create one intelligent 3D product model, resulting in improved productivity, greater speed, higher quality and lower costs. Version 13 is a clear indication of our company values, especially of our zest for being the innovative pioneer and always creating the most advanced solutions."

Tekla Structures
Tekla Structures software is a BIM tool that streamlines the delivery process of design, detailing, manufacturing, and construction organizations. While integrating openly with architectural models, its strength lies in the contractor end of the process. Thousands of Tekla Structures software users in more than 80 countries have successfully delivered BIM-based projects around the world.

Tekla Structures' ability to process extensive amounts of data enables creating detailed 3D models that apply to every stage of design and construction. From planning and design development through to fabrication and installation, Tekla models naturally develop in parallel, representing the "as-built" condition of a building. Tekla Structures effectively integrates into any best-of-breed software-driven workflow, while maintaining the highest levels of data integrity and accuracy. Such collaborative workflows are the key to minimizing errors and maximizing efficiency, resulting in high profitability and on-time project completion. Tekla Structures encompasses specialized configurations for structural engineers, steel detailers and fabricators, precast concrete detailers and manufacturers, as well as contractors.
