Passengers praise the airline's cabin crew on the Muscat route

Muscat, February 20, 2003:

The cabin crew of SWISS International Air Lines has been honoured for providing ‘Excellent Onboard Passenger Service’ on its Muscat route.

The Muscat Award is an internal accolade presented each year to a service within SWISS’ Omani operations that has been praised by passengers.

Ruedi Seiz, Country Manager for SWISS in Oman announced the award at a special presentation in Muscat today and said, “I am particularly proud that our passengers rate the performance of our cabin crew very high. It is one of the most essential elements of our product and service delivery. A professional, caring, service-minded and friendly flight attendant influences the travel experience of every one of our guests on board.”

SWISS’ cabin crew made a decisive contribution to meet it’s customer service objectives – one of the airline’s key values.

Colette Bastin, General Manager of SWISS’ Maîtres de Cabine was delighted with the Award and commented, "It is a great honour to accept the Muscat Award for excellent onboard passenger services – especially as it’s thanks to the comments from our passengers. Despite the difficulties in the Swiss aviation industry over the last year, I am very proud of our cabin crew who today, more than ever, are providing such a high standard of service to our passengers.”

“Our flight attendants and Maîtres de Cabine are experts in many fields, whether gastronomy, languages, problem-solving, First Aid, technical understanding and above all, safety awareness. This award is highly esteemed by the cabin crew, and the best form of motivation. It’s an important indication that we, as an airline, are on the right track.”

SWISS’ 2003 strategy emphasises the importance of customer service, while providing a niche product – the ‘Excellent Onboard Passenger Service’ Award is a strong motivator that SWISS is on track.

As one frequent SWISS passenger commented, “My family and I travel regularly on SWISS. And our children have repeatedly flown SWISS as unaccompanied minors – the crew make them feel at home. The cabin crew service is friendly, reliable, caring, obliging – simply impeccable. Our children say they will always choose to fly SWISS!”

SWISS currently operates a total of 31 weekly flights from the Middle East, including daily flights from Dubai, six weekly flights from Cairo, four weekly flights from Karachi, three weekly flights from Riyadh, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and Tehran and two weekly flights from Jeddah.
