Dubai, September 12, 2007 - The recently launched Blu-ray Disc Player BDP-S300 forms an integral part of Sony High Definition showcase at GITEX 2007 and visitors to the Sony Stand will be able to get a first hand experience of this breathtaking Full High Definition (HD) Blu-ray entertainment device. The BRAVIA Theatre section of the Sony Stand will demonstrate the ultimate home theatre combination with the BDP-S300 working alongside Sony's BRAVIA LCD TV and Sony's top-of-the-range AV receiver HT-DDW5200 via HDMI to produce one of the most stunning and engaging home theatre experiences for everyday enjoyment
BDP-S300 Blu-ray Disc Player brings next-level visual impacts
The new BDP-S300 Blu-ray Disc Player sets a new standard for what visual excellence at a home theatre could mean. The BDP-S300 offers stunning cinematic effects with 1920 x 1080p Full High Definition video from Blu-ray disc titles. The player supports videos encoded in x.v.Colour, which conforms to xvYCC international standard. xvYCC is an international standard for colour space in videos endorsed by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). x.v.Colour enables realisation of a wider range of colours at approximately twice that of conventional standards (sRGB) and reproduces images in a true-to-life manner.
Moreover, the BDP-S300 comes with the 24P True Cinema technology, which can output signals at 24 frames per second to produce a film-like viewing experience in a home setting. With the 1080p video up-scaling function, the BDP-S300 converts DVD video sources to 1080p Full HD picture quality, so that users can enjoy high-resolution video when watching DVD titles.
For movie lovers who have a huge video disc library, the BDP-S300 can also play back their collections in popular formats including BD-ROM, AVCHD DVD, DVD, CD, MP3 audio files, JPEG and DVD recordable media.
Other than the superior image quality, the BDP-S300 Blu-ray Disc Player complements high-level audio performance and offers up to 7.1-channel of linear PCM uncompressed sound quality when connected to a receiver such as the HT-DDW5200 via HDMI. The BDP-S300 supports a range of decoding formats including the Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital, DTS.
