- Gitex 2003 launch for Siemens' first integrated camera phone -
Gitex Dubai, 21 October 2003: Aimed at the increasingly visual modern consumer with the need for a fun yet functional mobile phone, the Siemens MC60 made its regional debut today at Gitex 2003 being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The five-day show running from October 19-23 saw Siemens mobile phones unveil for the first time in the Middle East, a handset that has quickly become one of the hottest ‘must-haves’ for European consumers since its launch there earlier this year.
Weighing in at just 86g, the eye-catching Siemens MC60 is a party proof phone with integrated camera, high quality four thousand colour screen and quick two-click picture messaging. Launched just recently in Moscow, the MC60 also features a distinctive X-shaped design and comes fully equipped with polyphonic ring tones, imaging applications and games.
For hip and trendy consumers, the MC60 also comes with a range of front and back CLIPit Covers and exchangeable keypads – vital accessories for those who like their mobile to reflect the latest trends and fashions. Add a GPRS facility that allows the downloading of logos, ring tones, games and applications from the website www.my-siemens.com/city and it is easy to understand the model’s popularity in the European market.
“The MC60 is our response to an increasingly visual consumer,” explained Kazi Najib Ashraf, head of sales at Siemens mobile phones for the Middle East and Africa. “The integrated camera, together with the multifunctional features of the handset, makes it a fun phone that becomes a part of the user’s social interaction and helps them share their favourite moments. Naturally, the handset also packs in the full range of advanced features that are essential to the modern mobile user.”
In addition to the stylish and fun CLIPit Covers and exchangeable keypads, the MC60 boasts an impressive accessory portfolio to suit even the most demanding of consumers.
Also available are a number of in-car solutions such as a voice-controlled Car Kit Professional Voice system, a Car Kit Comfort system with a two-part modular cradle that can be adapted to suit most Siemens future mobile phones, a flexible Car Kit Portable, a Basic Car Pack as well as Mobile Holders and Car Kit Upgrades. Other extras include chargers, a SyncStation, data cables, extra batteries and a practical tour case. The MC60 is available in aquamarine, titanium and grenadine colours.
