Dubai, UAE, 16 January 2014 -On Saturday morning, Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) is launching the second phase of the Women Leadership Exchange Program, which will take place from 18th - 23rd  Jan in Ras Al Khaimah in collaboration with Women 4 Sustainable Growth and MiL Institute from Sweden. The Women Leadership Exchange Program is an innovative project created to facilitate knowledge sharing on methods for sustainable and participatory leadership.

Following the successful completion of the first phase of the Women Leadership Exchange Program, which saw 14 female senior level Emirati female professionals from the UAE embark on a six-day overseas cross-cultural exchange program to Sweden - where they had the opportunity to meet with successful Swedish and International companies and learn from different sectors and markets.

The second module will build on the knowledge and skills learned by the participants during the previous sessions and focus on applying these newly acquired concepts in their own personal context, while placing greater emphasis on leading others, conflict management. 

The unique program comprises of 14 female senior level managers from the UAE selected from a diverse section of public and private entities. The list includes: Amna Kayed, Saif Al Ghurair Group; Muna Bin Kalli, Director of HH Sheikha Manal Cultural Office; Nisrin Al Harmoodi, the Department of Economic Development; Huda Al Tamimi, Hamdan Bin Mohamed E-University; Fatma Mohammad Noor Abdulkarim, Executive Director Finance on TECOM; Fatima Al Awadi, Dubai Health Authority; Nawal Al Ghazali, Du; Amina Ahli, Dubai Public Prosecution; Thuraya Al Zarooni, Dubai Public Prosecution; Mariam Al Afridi, Dubai Media Inc; Dalal Shehhi, Ministry of Labor; Shaikha Al Haddad, Emirates National Oil Company Limited (ENOC) LLC; Hanan Ahli, Emirates Competitiveness Council and Hanan Al Marzouqi, Emirates Competitiveness Council

Dubai Women Establishment has continuously strived to launch initiatives that will strengthen the role of UAE women in business and professional fields. Our various training programs and initiatives have one overarching mission - to ensure that Emirati women pursue an aggressive growth agenda that positively impacts the UAE economy, and the overall Gulf region; through the nurturing and development of women leaders, as well as establishing an international representation of Arab women in positions of leadership."

Dubai Women Establishment:
The Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) was formed in 2006 under law no. (24) by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum - The UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. DWE is headed by Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum - Wife of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan - UAE Minister of Presidential Affairs. As a statutory body of Dubai Government and as per its founding decree, the Establishment aims to encourage and facilitate the participation of Emirati women in the workforce and society.

Mandate includes extensive research to identify and quantify status of women in the workforce of Dubai, as well as initiatives towards women's further development opportunities. Awareness and policies that are conducive to women in the workforce will be recommended to Dubai Government as solutions to enable women to play a greater role within the UAE and on global scale.

The term participation includes acknowledgment of women in arts, women in sports, women in leadership professionally in their field as well as of the societal arena such as act of philanthropic, humanitarian and politics.

Women for Sustainable Growth (W4SG)
W4SG is a hub and network for leaders in academia, business and society within the Gulf Region and Scandinavia. We aim to work together through participatory methods to promote women as leaders, to support closer ties between leaders in the two regions, and to encourage sustainable living. We provide support for research, analysis of new research, conduct innovative training courses, networking, event facilitation, host cultural forums and other activities that follow W4SGs vision. Close cooperation with academic institutions in both regions is important for the Association - specifically Lund University and Zayed University - in addition to close ties with companies and organizations which share our values.

W4SG started as an outreach project from Lund University in Sweden. Now our research projects are done in coordination with Zayed University and Yale University.

Our hubs, homes for our team, are in Lund, Sweden and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. These hubs also serve as incubators for new projects and meetings spaces for our membership.
