Middle East's Largest GM Dealer Integrating 45+ Business Processes using Oracle E-Business Suite

DAMMAM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - 6 April 2005 - Aljomaih Automotive Company (AAC), the largest General Motors (GM) dealer in the Middle East, has embarked on a significant business process automation project.  To enhance its level of service to customers and stakeholders in all aspects of the automotive business, Aljomaih is deploying the Oracle E-Business Suite, which will be used in over 70 branch offices across the Kingdom.

Chief among the benefits that Aljomaih anticipates from its Oracle-based project is a uniformly high standard of customer service that delivers increased satisfaction to GM automobile owners in Saudi Arabia.  With the growing Saudi population and a robust automotive market, consumer expectations are reaching an all-time high in the country.  The Oracle system is set to streamline all business processes while giving Aljomaih's management a unified view of the company's customer base in order to help delivering better and more personalized customer services.

In evaluating its needs, Aljomaih identified more than 45 business processes that needed to be automated and integrated in both customer facing and back office functions.

Sheikh Ibrahim Aljomaih, Vice Chairman and CEO of Aljomaih Automotive commented on his company's selection of Oracle E-Business Suite by saying:  "What Aljomaih is creating, by deploying the Oracle E-Business Suite, is a 360 degree view of our customers, so that we have their full history from the time of the first interaction through the sales process, all after sales contacts and at any point we have contact with them. I doubt that any other organization in the Kingdom, certainly no one in the automotive sector, is building this level of customer focus."

"From an internal perspective, this project will also enable Aljomaih to forecast our procurement needs and service cycles much more accurately, saving us money, while standardizing the incentive programs for our workshop and sales staff.  Overall, Aljomaih is becoming a far more customer-centric, well-informed and automated operation across all of our 70 branches," he added.

Husam Dajani, Vice President, Oracle, Middle East and Africa said: "We are delighted to be associated with Aljomaih Automotive, they realize the value and importance of customer service and what Oracle can do in this respect. Oracle E-Business Suite has been selected by all major automotive companies in the Gulf and Middle East, I think this is no coincidence, Oracle understands the automobile business and what it takes to succeed in a very competitive and discriminating market."

Local and Industry Knowledge a Key Differentiator

Key elements of Aljomaih's decision to implement the Oracle E-Business Suite also included the Arabic-enabled capability of the software as well as its localization to meet the relevant Saudi regulatory requirements.  Oracle's extensive reach in the Saudi market, as well as its experience in the region's automotive sector, were also important considerations.

In the customer-facing component of the comprehensive project, Aljomaih is implementing elements of the Oracle Customer Relationship Management including telesales and filed sales operations, order management, incentive compensation, tele service, and field service as well as parts management.  In its back office, Aljomaih is rolling out procurement, human resources management, and financial management from Oracle.

Following the initial company business process evaluation by KPMG and Aljomaih, Oracle partner Raya Saudi has been selected to manage the Oracle E-Business Suite implementation for Aljomaih, which is expected to go live by the end of 2005.  More than 2,000 employees across the Kingdom will benefit from the new system.

The Aljomaih selection the E-Business Suite further solidifies Oracle Middle East's position as the leading information technology provider to the region's automotive sector, joining existing Oracle automotive clients In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, such as Abdulatif Jamil  (Toyota), Abdullah Hashem Company (Honda), Arabian Automotive Agency (International Truks, Blue Bird Buses and Johnston Sweepers), as well as, Arabian Automobiles (Nissan) and Jumaa Almajid (KIA, Hyundai and Isuzu) in the UAE, and Ghabour Group (Hyundai) in Egypt.  As the Middle East's automotive sales and services sectors become more competitive in the wake of countries joining the World Trade Organization, Oracle is investing to ensure that it can meet the rising software demands from dealers around the region.
