The national flag carrier has deliberately moved toward a global process of certification in all its spheres of activity and compliance with the highest world standards of quality assurance.

In the framework of this global and integrated endeavor, Royal Air Maroc has just been certified ISO 9001 version 2000 for its training activities at the Institut du Transport Arien (Air Transport Institute).

The said certification covers all the training efforts related to the air transport industry: Ab initio initial and permanent training of airline pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, flight operations officers and cabin flight crews (airline stewards and stewardesses).

The Institut du Transport Arien was created in 1958 to meet the training needs of Royal Air Maroc. This Institute encompasses:

  • The Centre de Formation Technique (CFT), or Technical Training Center, for training of aircraft maintenance technicians and operations officers.

  • Flight crew training

  • Flight Simulation Center

  • The Ecole Nationale des Pilotes de Ligne (ENPL), or National Airline Pilot School, for the theoretical and practical training of airline pilots geared to the granting of Professional Airline Pilot licenses.

Focusing on the permanently changing requirements in training technology, aviation techniques and national and international regulations (Moroccan Civil Aviation Department, OACI, JAA, ATA 104, etc.), the Institut du Transport Arien has adopted a strategy for investment, permanent adaptation to technological advances and partnerships with a wide variety of international bodies.

The Institut du Transport Arien has acquired regional renown through the training of 3 000 national and foreign aviation professionals, particularly with respect to African and Europeans.

The ISO 9001 certification 2000 version underscores the customer orientation of this institute.

The customer services quality is crucial in the field of aviation.

For this reason, the initiation of quality systems for Royal Air Maroc constitutes a strategic option and endeavor to achieve permanent improvement at all levels of the Company with regard to all spheres of activity.
