SHARJAH: Robotic solutions for the metal-working industry are set to be a key discussion area at the forthcoming SteelFab exhibition scheduled from the 17 - 20 January 2011 at Expo Centre Sharjah. It will feature prominently among the topics of technical seminars held alongside the show.
Lincoln Electric, a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment, is leveraging its strategic alliance with FANUC Robotics in offering an unparalleled combination of welding and robotics expertise, plus single-source efficiency.
"Our presentation on hard automation and robotic automation is tailored to customers who are looking for complete automation solutions for the welding industry - focusing to provide cost-effective solutions to all automation needs of the customer through our standard and custom-build products," said Mr. Paul Howe, Regional Automation Manager, Lincoln Electric, Asia-Pacific.
Celada Middle East will also make a presentation on robotic automation. "We have been implementing automation in varied industry in Europe. Celada provides robotic automation solutions for the manufacturing industry with capabilities to integrate robots with CNC machine tools used in steel manufacturing.
"Our partner, Fanuc Robotics, is the best solution provider for different applications. They are available with different pay load and reach to satisfy all customers," said Mr. Silvio Tomassoni of Celada Middle East. "We now have established an office and service facility in Dubai and are well placed to offer automation solutions to the Middle East industry," he added.
ABB Robotics will also be displaying a robot at SteelFab 2011, reflecting the increased interest and visibility of robotics at the show.
Other interesting seminars for this year's show will cover topics like 'surface preparation and protective coating equipment' by Airblast Middle East; 'filtration systems for cutting systems' by Donaldson Filtration; 'cutting-edge chain technology for fabrication' by Kettenwulf Betriebs; 'process industry welding practices & welding consumables' by Lincoln Electric; and 'software applications in steel fabrication' by Acecad Software.
KettenWulf Betriebs GmbH, the world's leading manufacturers of conveyor chains, drive chains, and sprockets, will present its innovations in chain technology. "Our presentation titled 'Chainovation' will focus on innovations in chain technology and related applications for steel fabricators," said Dr. Harun M. Said of KettenWulf Betriebs GmbH. "It should be of great interest to fabricators involved in projects fabricating conveyor systems, lifting systems and other applications involving chains and conveyors," he said.
"We will be elaborating on our new Powercore TG series for thermally generated dust." said Mr. Radhesh of Donaldson Filtration. "PowerCore TG is the new way to get cleaner air in welding, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and thermal spray applications." he added.
Speaking about the necessity of coating requirements in the region, Mr. Rupesh Sivaram of Airblast Middle East, said, "The desert and saline environment of the Middle East calls for extensive surface preparation and coating requirements. Our presentation will feature equipment for these needs."
"The SteelFab exhibition has always been facilitating introduction of new and varied technology to the steel manufacturing industry in this region," said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General of Expo Centre Sharjah.
"The exhibit content for new technology in manufacturing automation and robotics has been increasing at SteelFab and reflects the changing processes employed by the regional industry. We will look to add and introduce more new segments to support advances in technology in future editions," he added.
The seventh edition of SteelFab will be a comprehensive sourcing platform for all types of metal-working, metal-manufacturing and all specialized segments of the steel fabrication industry.
The show will host more than 600 brands in a total exhibition area of 16,000 square meters, featuring the Middle East's largest display of machinery, machine tools, welding equipment, supplies, consumables and ancillary equipment used in the pre and post-treatment of steel.
SteelFab 2011 will be organized by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
