Dubai - 3M MEA is pleased to announce that Robert Nichols, Regional Managing Director of 3M Middle East & Africa, has been re-elected for the second consecutive year as Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Dubai for 2021. The election results were announced on the evening of November 24. As a member, Robert will continue to represent 3M in 2021. The AmCham is the first bilateral trade organization established in the U.A.E. and operates under the local patronage of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The new 11-member Board has been re-elected for a one-year mandate and is comprised of a diverse group of business leaders representing UAE and American businesses. The Council’s membership is made up of spokespeople, including American and Emirati individuals, from American Fortune 500 companies, SMEs, and U.A.E. organizations across various industries. The AmCham acts as a catalyst for American business in the region and serves as a united voice for U.S.-headquartered entities.
Commenting on his new appointment, Robert Nichols stated, "I’m honored to be presented with the opportunity to once again serve as an AmCham Board Member. I look forward to collaborating with board peers as we look to shape the future strategy of AmCham Dubai. In line with AmCham's aim of promoting U.S.-UAE trade growth, we will be seeking new ways to contribute to this mandate while also promoting the legitimate economic interests of AmCham members.”
Prior to this recent appointment, Robert was board member of the AmCham in Russia from 2015-2017, during which he also served as Managing Director of 3M Russia. In 2019 and 2018, Robert was recognized in the exclusive Forbes Middle East Top 50 Executive list. In 2019, Robert was ranked the 39th most influential executive in the Middle East, 11 ranks up from 2018.
AmCham Dubai represents the bilateral trade and development interests of industries, corporations and individual members in Dubai and across the Middle East.
