April 16, 2007: Royal Jordanian signed a five-year partnership agreement with deSter, the creator and provider of on-board services and products. The agreement stipulates that deSter will provide RJ with all food and beverage service equipments on both J and economy class.

In order to meet the international standards RJ has always kept, RJ pledged to enhance services offered passengers, particularly upon joining the global airline alliance of oneworld. The partnership thus incorporates superior services on board, including chinaware on J class, cutlery, and textiles, in addition to amenity kits offered J class passengers. Economy class passengers will also enjoy a new design of food service on board all RJ aircraft that matches the rebranding of Royal Jordanian's interiors and exteriors of its aircraft. With the selection of deSter, RJ will be offering convenience to passengers and crew members, and more efficiency enhancing RJ's image and saving space and weight.

Joint efforts exerted by RJ departments led to selecting deSter. RJ's dedicated teams conducted several market studies for international on-board service providers and eventually settled on deSter.

President and CEO Samer Majali said: "We are pleased to partner with deSter, since it offers innovative concepts, solutions and products, providing insights and emerging trends. deSter has been providing international airlines with state-of-the-art on-board equipment for over three decades. RJ's pursuit to satisfy customers with world-class on board services has led the airline to renew the partnership with deSter."

President and CEO of deSter Lieven Cuyckens said: "It is an honor for deSter to renew its partnership with Royal Jordanian, which started 25 years ago. This agreement has helped rebrand RJ in its quest to achieve excellence in its new era of joining the oneworld alliance. The cooperation between deSter and RJ has been successful and we are looking forward to meeting the high standards of the airline."

Headquartered in Hoogstraten, Belgium, deSter was founded in 1936 as a general trading house, and refocused as a specialist supplier to the airline industry in 1973. Its net sales in 2006 totaled euro 239 million. The company currently employs over 1,200 specialized staff members worldwide who in turn manage many thousands of suppliers, partners and support units on daily basis. Over 350 airlines partner with deSter to provide their passengers with the company's products; they constitute 12% of the industry global market. It has an in-house design department dedicated to in-flight specialization and food packaging solutions.
