Dental implants are an exciting treatment modality for individuals who are have lost teeth due to dental decay (caries), gum disease (periodontitis), or trauma. Dental implants may also be successfully used to treat patients who are born without teeth, or those who have experienced oral cancer. The use of dental implants have become increasingly predictable in recent years, and have been demonstrated to make significant contributions to the quality of life of patients.
The RCSI-MUB, which was officially opened in October 2004 under the patronage of H.H. The Prime Minister, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa with the Prime Minister of Ireland, Mr. Bertie Ahern T.D, is a constituent university of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).
The role of the university is to provide healthcare education and training of world standards not only for students from Bahrain but also from the GCC countries. This is borne by the fact that in the 2005-06 academic year, students from 11 countries had enrolled for the graduate course.
Its curriculum, examinations and supervision guarantee the highest international standards with students learning medicine in the environment in which they will practice as doctors.
