Radisson SAS Hotel Kuwait, part of the first-class brand of the fast-growing Rezidor SAS Hospitality, has appointed Jan Petter Eilertsen as its new General Manager, replacing Andreas Flckiger who has taken the reins at the company's second hotel in Dubai. The property is currently the InterContinenal Hotel Dubai, an established landmark on the Deira Creekside and will be re-branded Radisson SAS as of 1 October this year.
Eilertsen, a Norwegian national, has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having held various hotel management positions in Scandinavia and China. He joined the company in 1984 at the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Bergen, Norway and was promoted to Assistant Manager three years later. He was also Rooms Division Manager at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Lule?, Sweden and at the property in Stavanger, Norway, where he was later appointed Executive Assistant Manager. In 1993, he transferred to the Radisson SAS Hotel in Beijing, China as Rooms Division Manager and was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager in 1994. Two years later, he took on his first role as General Manager, with the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark.
"Jan Peter has excellent cross-functional industry experience which will be a real asset for this challenging role," said Jean-Marc Busato, Vice President Middle East, Rezidor SAS Hospitality.
"He will be responsible for further strengthening our position in Kuwait as well heading up a planned renovation for the property".
The hotel recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and marks Rezidor's first venture to develop and manage hotels outside its home market in Scandinavia.
