HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office Dr. Mustafa Ismail, Advisor to Sudanese President Omar Albashir. The President's Advisor was accompanied by Sudanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Abdulhafiz Mohamed. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Nahala Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

The meeting began as Dr. Ismail thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him and relayed cordial regards from the Sudanese President and handed the Prince a letter from the President. During the meeting the two discussed the bi-lateral relations and friendship between their respective countries, and Prince Alwaleed's local, regional and international donations.

Also during the meeting, Dr. Ismail extended an invitation to His Highness to visit Sudan and consider investment opportunities there. In response, the Prince welcomed the Dr. Ismail's ideas for investment, thanked him for the invitation to visit his country and promised to visit soon.

In conclusion to the meeting the Prince asked the Advisor to relay his cordial regards to the President and referred to the importance in further strengthening trade and economic ties with Sudan.

Prince Alwaleed had made various philanthropic donations to Sudan.  In 2003, HRH donated 80 tons of supplies for Sudanese flood victims to help the government deal with the massive destruction that happened in some provinces east of the country. The donation consisted of tents, blankets, medical supplies, hygiene service requirements, water pumps and first aids for disasters were shipped from Riyadh to Agiler via a private cargo jet. Earlier that year, Prince Alwaleed pledged a $10,000 donation to each family of the 115 victims who lost their lives in the crash of Sudanese Airliner.
