- DB Aerocopters develops and manufactures new low-cost helicopter
- In its Pre-IPO phase, Perla Group manages to raise USD 33 million
- Group plans to move helicopter manufacturing facility to the UAE
13 November, 2009 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Perla Group International Ltd., the Dubai-based company with interests in telecommunications, aviation and other growth sectors, have recently reached an agreement to acquire 100% shares of Ukraine's DB Aerocopter. DB Aerocopter Ltd. designs and builds the AK1-3 petrol-powered, two-seater light helicopter.
Like no other helicopter in its class, the AK1-3 is built using state-of-the-art computer aided machining instead of traditional die-casting - resulting in a durable and easy to transport aircraft that's ideal for business and pleasure flights, farming and agriculture, security, aerial photography and other applications.
Charles D'Alberto, CEO and Founder of Perla Group International, personally flew the AK1-3 while touring the facilities in Poltava, Ukraine and was immediately impressed at the helicopter's performance, agility and manufacturing excellence.
"In its class, it is my opinion and the opinion of many industry professionals that the AK1-3 stands alone," declares D'Alberto, who is currently busy in his company's pre-IPO phase and has raised USD 33 million towards its expansion goals.
With the current manufacturing facility located in the Ukraine, Perla Group has plans to move the assembly plant to the UAE to take advantage of the company's ties to the Middle East and Africa regions. This move will be a groundbreaking development for the UAE's aviation industry, which at present has no local aircraft manufacturing facility. Perla Aviation, Perla Group's aviation division, are looking forward to the versatility and marketability of the low-cost, easy-to-maintain helicopter.
"The acquisition of DB Aerocopters by Perla Group International is an exciting step for us," says Igor V. Polituchyi, Director of DB Aerocopter. "It will take our company to a new level, and give us the ability to enter into new and exciting markets and show the world just how good the AK1-3 really is."
The additional financing and support from Perla also allows DB Aerocopter to complete the development and design of their new 4-5 person helicopter.
