DUBAI, UAE: The third edition of the 2011 SPE Reservoir Characterisation and Simulation Conference and Exhibition (RCSC), will be taking place 9-11 October at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi. With a phenomenal number of abstracts received to present, RCSC is expecting renewed interest from past attendees and many new regional and international professionals to attend.

The programme will include an executive plenary session titled 'Industry Collaborative Strategies to Optimise Recovery', two panel sessions to discuss 'Characterisation and Modelling Challenges of EOR in Carbonate Reservoirs' and 'Integrated Approach to Meet Characterisation Modelling Challenges', a series of over forty technical presentations and poster sessions covering topics such as 'Dynamic Modelling Advances', 'Heavy Oil Reservoirs' and 'Reservoir Monitoring/Management'. The event will also offer two training courses entitled 'Ensuring Reliable SCAL Data for Reservoir Modelling' and '4D Coupled Reservoir Geomechanics Modelling for Optimal Field Management', a networking welcome reception and a raffle draw to win an iPad 2. In addition, the Regional SPE Honours and Awards Ceremony will take place at the same venue as RCSC on Sunday, 9 October.
