Dubai-based organic food platform begins sale of authentic and certified organic products
With a mission to make organic food the first choice and eventually a lifestyle decision of consumers by making it easily available under one roof and affordable by all.
As the first and most critical step towards the mission, Organic & Real has announced the launch of its online food store. The web platform, www.organicandreal.com, offers a comprehensive range of authentic and certified organic food products, providing a more convenient option for your daily shopping needs but from the organic or naturally grown and produced range.
Organic & Real is one of the largest online marketplace for 'Certified Organic', 'Natural', 'Vegan', 'Gluten Free' And 'Free From' range of products. Headquartered in Dubai, UAE, the company has more than 2,000 products across multiple categories and is targeting to increase the listed products to over 15,000 in 6 months. They work directly with local farmers as well as source from local and international certified organic brands to bring together a vast variety of the freshest and healthiest range of food products - reachable at a click.
Rooted in the principles of health, balanced living and sustainability, Organic &Real’s story began with a passion to ‘go back to the roots’ - to bring back food which are grown naturally and ethically and to help people understand the importance of choosing non-GMO, pesticide- and-chemical free food products which will let them gain back the body’s natural resistance gifted by nature.
“My quest for sampling varied cuisines across different countries during my vast travels planted the seed for what Organic & Real is today. I have always been a foodie and since I can remember, my thoughts would always travel back to where and how the food and ingredients on my plate could have come from!! But it was only during my short stint of running our family’s healthcare business that I realized the damage the currently available industrially-produced food is doing to our health. I got to see up close so many people suffering from lifestyle-related health problems, even at a very young age. Diabetes, Cancer and other rare illnesses of the past have now become commonplace and as most recent studies show, the correlation between these health hazards and the dangerous chemicals used in the industrially-farmed or produced food are becoming clearer.
That is what set me thinking how each one of us is responsible for the eco system, it’s balance and sustainability; how we as mankind should become more aware of what is good and not for us and how we need to join hands together to move toward more conscious and ethical living.
And thus, came clearer in my mind the promise and hope that lies in retreating back to natural, real & organically produced food. I have been reading and researching the subject for around 3 years now. Understanding the gap in the awareness on the subject amongst people as well as lack of easy access to natural and wholesome food, I decided to embark on a mission to raise awareness in people to make conscious food choices as well as to bring these safer food options closer to people,” said Manu Mahdi, the founder of Organic & Real.
“Contrary to certain misconceptions, we do not sell ‘different’ food. What we have on our online store are all your daily requirements of fruits, vegetables, pulses, legumes and all other ingredients/provisions - but the organic/natural version of them”
Through Organic & Real, Manu Mahdi aims to direct a movement towards slowly but steadily transforming our current lifestyle, making the switch to conscious choices and paving the way for a healthier and responsible future generation.
With a global aspiration to expand to 20 countries in five years, Organic &Real currently works with a large network of farmers, encouraging them to grow organic crops, sustain natural methods of farming and processing and working with them to promote farming/production/processing techniques that are conducive to public health without compromising too much on the economic profitability to the producer.
Amongst the future plans for O&R are adding more product ranges of environmentally-sustainable, and organic non-food items especially baby products, organic cosmetics and even organic clothing.
They also will be introducing what they call ‘The Tribe’ which aims to bring together people who think in the same lines of sustainable and symbiotic living.
Their other plans include introducing their own range of products under the name O&R to be launched first in the UAE.
“With so much to look forward to, we hope to have the support from all who understand the need to sustain the individual, the environment and the society”, concludes Mahdi.
