IP telephony will support expansion plans

Cairo, Egypt - 5 February 2007. Orange Business Services has announced the first phase of an IP Telephony contract with AES Corporation, one of the world's leading power companies.

New generation telephony is employed as a focal point of the deal which will see the immediate adoption of IP telephony services for the power giant at its headquarters in Douala, Cameroon and its main technical site in Koumassi, with phase two of the implementation planned to support users of 1500 IP phones.  AES has already experienced the benefits of Orange Business Services' expertise which was employed at their operation in Venezuela.

AES Cameroon will immediately see the efficiencies of using IP telephony. They'll benefit from reduced costs in the short term, and in the longer term they'll have technology in place to support their planned call centre.

Lionel Reina, Head of the EEMEA Region, Orange Business Services, said "As a global service provider with assets combining network, integration and management services Orange Business Services is ideally positioned to deliver IP telephony services to AES and the cost reductions it brings. Through our expertise and experience in deploying complex solutions, we will mitigate the risk for businesses when implementing new technologies".
