Muscat, 5 October 2010 - Nawras, a Qtel Group company, is delighted to be introducing a new Quran service providing regular Islamic recitations by Shaikh Mishary Rishad Alafasy, delivered directly to customers' handsets.  The service is already being enjoyed by almost half a million people across the region and Nawras is now making it available for the first time in the Sultanate of Oman.

For only 300 Baiza per week, Nawras customers can receive verses of the Quran, prayers, sayings of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and the latest poetic recitations from Shaikh Mishary Alafasy.   On each day from Sunday to Thursday each week, subscribing customers will be sent an MMS (picture message) as well as an SMS link to allow content to be downloaded and saved as an MP3 file.  There is no charge for downloading the MP3 file.

Adding to the advantage of attractive pricing, the Alafasy service is simple to use too, as customers quite rightly expect from Nawras.  After sending the key letter 'D' to 90920 (for the standard SMS charge of just 10 Baiza), a return SMS will confirm that the subscription is successful and the pleasingly different service will commence.

Describing the new service, Mohamed bin Jaffer Al Najwani, Nawras VAS marketing manager, said, "This is a fantastic new service which we know our customers will be happy to hear about and what's more, it's very easy to get started. With more than 60 value added services our customers can be sure that they get more choice and value from Nawras as we lead the way in mobile entertainment as well as customer service."

Subscription to Alafasy service is automatically renewed every week with a message sent to the subscribed customer one day prior to renewal confirming intent to continue enjoying the service.

Full details of all Nawras value added services can be found by visiting the company's website at www.nawras.om.  The extensive list includes: General Secondary Certificate Result service via SMS, Flash SMS, Oman Air SMS, translation and employment services as well as collect call and missed call notice services.
