"Back-2-School Surprises" event gives children chance to get complete school stationery set
One of the exciting events that is taking place during "Back-2-School" Surprises is the "My Fun Stationery" workshop at the Oasis Centre, aimed at bringing out a child's intelligence and creative skills in the quickest possible time.
Nader Hasan, Member of the Back-2-School Surprises Committee, said: "The aim of this fun event is to provide children an opportunity to showcase their creativity, intelligence and the ability to do things in a fast and orderly way. They will be given a number of pictures which they have to use as a collage to create a big portrait. This event will inspire children to show off their brilliant best as an artist, especially since they would be rewarded with a complete set of school stationery".
The workshop is being held daily at the Oasis Centre stage from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. It provides a platform for children to focus on their skills, talent, speed and powers of observation in an entertaining way. The stage itself resembles a classroom so that it creates the ideal school ambience for participants.
The event has been well received with a number of children enthusiastically participating to put together portraits that are both artistic and beautiful.
The Department of Economic Development, who are the organisers of "Back-2-School Surprises", are offering valuable prizes to successful participants in the form of school bags complete with stationery items required by students.
After the "Back-2-School Surprises", the Dubai Summer Surprises will end with the final theme week "Colour Surprises" by the Department of Health and Medical Services from August 19-27, 2004.
