All those who want to catch up with Mowgli's adventures on stage should not miss the musical performance of Jungle Book, a DSS presentation that comes to the city in late August

Watch out! This DSS you may just bump into Sher Khan, prowling around in the Modhesh Fun City at the Dubai World Trade Center. And following his footsteps closely will be the beloved Mowgli, Bhalu and Colonel Hathi of Jungle Book fame.

This summer, theatre enthusiasts are in for a treat as the world's first major stage production of Jungle Book will take Dubai by storm. This show, produced by the Birmingham Stage Company, has proved so successful in the UK, that Mowgli was invited by a Royal Appointment to attend the Queen's Birthday Party at Buckingham Palace earlier this month.

According to a Time Out London review; "The Jungle Book is a rip-roaring family show using the full force of musical theatre - a jungle beat of thunderous music and vigorous dance routines - eliciting a wildly enthusiastic response with every number. For sheer energy, this exhilarating production ticks all the boxes for families looking for an uplifting treat!"

The Birmingham Stage company has been visiting Dubai for the past two years. But this is the first time The Jungle Book will come to the city. Whether you are four or 54, this musical is sure to endear just about every age group. The event hosts, Gulf International Promotions expect that more than 8,000 children and their families will partake in Mowgli's Jungle Adventures this summer. Presented in conjunction with Dubai Summer Surprises, the Jungle Book's sponsor and media partners includ Skittles and co-sponsors HP Invent, ARN, Emirates Today and What's On and Fun Corner.

From August 23 to 27 two performances a day will be held at the Modhesh Fun City. Tickets will be available from July 23 onwards and  are priced at Dh65 and Dh85. This  will include the entrance fee to Modhesh Fun City. You can buy your tickets through selected Virgin Megastores in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah or you can book online at www.boxofficeme.com.  For group bookings call the Jungle Book Information line  on 04- 360 6957; 04- 335 5330 or 050-880 5073.

The 10-week long DSS, which opened with the Ice Surprises week on June 21, continues with the weekly themes of Art Surprises, International Food Surprises, Adventure Surprises, Cartoon Surprises, Nature Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Flower Surprises, Heritage Surprises, and concludes with Back-2-School Surprises on September 1.
