Dubai, November 4, 2009: Building on its commitment to upgrade institutional excellence in the UAE to international levels, a delegation from the Ministry of Finance (MOF) visited Dubai Police General Headquarters for a briefing on their best practices and exchanged experiences in excellence in institutional development. The MOF delegation was headed by HE Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni, Executive Director of Financial Management Department and Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Department and Sheikha Khalifa Bin Zaal, Director, Organizational Excellence Department.
The MOF delegation, which included representatives from most of its sectors and departments, was received by Colonel Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Sultan, Director of Strategic Planning Department and Ibrahim Mohammed Hamad Al Falasi, General Coordinator of Quality Assurance in Dubai Police. They thanked the delegation for its visit and for its effort to increase cooperation, efficiency and exchange of views between various local and Federal government departments.
HE Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni thanked Dubai Police for the reception and assured them that the Ministry's ongoing efforts intend to develop closer relations within all local and Federal authorities and exchange their experiences for the benefit of the UAE.
During the visit, Major Mansour Yousef Al Gergawi, Director of MOF's Knowledge Management and Captain Abdulrahman Ahmed Kassem, Director of Corporate Excellence Department at Dubai Police explained the development of Dubai Police's strategy and its achievements in setting objectives, following up and implementing strategies. The attendees also exchanged experiences in providing an innovative environment for employees, and adopting change and progressive policies at the implementation level.
Dubai Police's directors presented techniques and methods used to measure performance and mechanisms of collecting indicators, in addition to giving an overall view of electronic suggestion system in use. They detailed the system's operation and its edge in collectivizing all individual suggestions presented by employees; they added that employees are encouraged to give their suggestions and these suggestions are considered and evaluated seriously.
The delegation was motivated by the high level of interactivity with the presentations and presenters. They maximized the benefit of their visit by exchanging information and experiences. They exchanged honorary shields to express their gratitude to the Dubai Police for efforts to maintain the security and safety of the community. They commended it for pursuing global excellence and leadership in financial management practices and ensuring the sustainable and balanced development of the UAE.
