Middle East - 8 May 2012 - Misys plc (FTSE: MSY.L), the global application software and services company today announced that it has won the "Best Back-Office System" in The Asian Banker Technology Implementation Awards 2012. The award was won for the successful implementation of Opics at China Construction Bank (CCB). The bank used Opics, Misys' cross-asset trading and treasury solution, to standardise its overseas corporate banking, personal banking and treasury operations systems.
During the project, CCB built a unified suite of systems to be rolled out across global branches. This involved implementing a consolidated back-office platform to introduce automation, standardisation and consistency across all systems, resulting in enhanced efficiencies, increased transparency, and reduced operational risk. The project was on time and budget, with six CCB overseas branches live within 10 months, including implementations in the bank's Sydney, Tokyo and London offices.
Peng Tao, Deputy Senior Manager of China Construction Bank commented, "The successful implementation of Misys Opics enabled our head office to centrally support, manage and monitor the back-office operating system while expanding our overseas branch expansion to global financial markets. The resulting unified operating process and data standards were significant goals in this project. The stability and scalability of the Misys platform will enable us to provide the best service to our customers."
Peter Middleton, Director of Professional Services, Misys Asia Pacific, said, "We are very pleased with this award as it recognises the hard work that was involved in a highly collaborative and complex project with teams in three locations in China and a number of overseas branches. As China Construction Bank continues to expand its global reach, the Misys platform will continue to meet current and future expansion requirements across the globe."
Misys' Opics is a comprehensive front-to-back, cross-asset trade processing solution with rich straight-through processing and back-office capabilities. In a single system, it handles a wide range of financial instruments including vanilla and complex derivatives, fixed income, and equity and treasury trades.
