"Nakhool Tent" will host daily fun-filled activities for kids throughout festival

Kingdom of Bahrain- July 1, 2011: The public flocked to the grand opening of third annual Bahrain Summer Festival 2011 held yesterday under the patronage of H.E. Sh. Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture, at the "Nakhool Tent" next to Arad Fort.

The crowds enjoyed the opening's action-packed program of fun activities with the festival mascot "Nakhool". Open every day from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, "Nakhool Tent" offers children a wide variety of free educational and entertaining cultural activities designed for the whole family, including art, cinema, music, literature, games, as well as a food court.

Following the opening ceremony the Bahrain Summer Festival held its inaugural performance at the Cultural Hall featuring Lebanese vocalist Samar Kammouj who paid homage to legendary Egyptian composer Riyadh Al Sonbati by singing his most famous works.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture under the slogan "A Victory of Joy", Bahrain Summer Festival tickets are on sale exclusively through the festival kiosk in Bahrain City Center. Events held at the Cutural Hall are free, while tickets for shows held at the BIECC start from BD 1 up to BD 10.

About "Bahrain Summer"
Held under the slogan "A Victory of Joy", Bahrain Summer 2011 is the third edition of this annual event which aims to bring joy and happiness to all Bahraini families, residents and tourists. The event caters to kids and adults alike through musical performances, cultural nights as well as educational and artistic events.

Bahrain Summer will host a variety of exciting cultural shows including the Merchants of Bollywood, Fang Yangs "Gazillion Bubble Show" and Barney's Space Adventure to name a few.
