Award-winning Dubai manufacturer's innovative solution to avoid installation of hundreds Megawatt of electrical production units
Gitex Technology Week, Dubai, UAE - Micro Automation Industries, a Dubai-based manufacturer and premium member of the Dubai SME 100, is developing a smart control system and power device aiming to reduce electricity demand during peak hours.
Ranked as number one in Innovation by Dubai SME 100, Micro Automation is again on the way to bring innovation to the next level with a new range of solutions that will enable utilities to save further generation capacities. Unveiled at Gitex Technology Week, this envisaged solution will allow consumers to manage electrical appliances and conserve power usage at peak hours between 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM in Dubai.
The demand for electricity all over the world increases considerably every year, which resulted in higher consumption rates and according to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), if every customer in the emirates turned the air-conditioning up from 20C to 24C during electrical peak will lead to saving 270 million kilowatt-hours per year worth AED81 million, which is sufficient to provide 11,000 apartments with electricity for a whole year. It will also save approximately 160 thousand tons of emissions and avoid installation of about 300 megawatts electrical production units.
Micro Automation's R&D output in the field of smart control solution will enable to turn off less-critical appliances such as electrical irons, washers and dryers, dish washers, water heaters and electrical ovens during peak hours, and operating them during off-peak times. This will lead to an efficient and reliable electrical system that can save a huge amount of power every hour.
"This innovation under development is targeting the reduction of electricity demand during peak hours. Our new range of smart control solutions will allow consumers to manage their appliances in a comfortable manner the use of delivered electrical power when certain limitations of supply imposed by utility. The smart control will give consumers the possibility to cope with eventual scheduling of electrical power," said Hazim Al-Hajjaj, Managing Director, of Micro Automation Industries.
A leader in the electronic control systems and power protection devices, Micro Automation is also the manufacturer of Powermatic, the brand name for its line of power protection products and a new concept of multiple power protection for various equipment at home, offices, and Industry. Powermatic is powered by a built-in microprocessor, designed and developed by Micro Automation, which provides comprehensive monitoring of electrical supply and connecting equipment only when the supply is within safe levels.
Powermatic provides thorough protection to a wide range of electronic appliances from different types of power disturbances. It carries out comprehensive monitoring of the electric supply and prevents deviated power quality from reaching electrical equipment.
The latest development in Powermatic power protection devices will be showcased at Micro Automation stand located in Stand H2-15, Hall 2. Gitex Technology Week is held from 14-18 October, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

About Powermatic:
Powermatic is the flagship product of Micro Automation Industries and the brand name for its line of power protection products and a new concept of multiple power protection for various equipment at home and offices. It provides thorough protection to a wide range of electronic appliances from different types of power disturbances. It carries out comprehensive monitoring of the electric supply and prevents deviated power quality from reaching electrical equipment. In addition, the Powermatic only connects the equipment when the supply is within safe levels. Unlike other solutions available in the market such as surge protectors, which provide one type of protection, the Powermatic offers seven types of protection. These protections are for over voltage, under voltage, under frequency, over frequency, interruption, loose connection, and power surges. Using the Powermatic reduces power consumption, eliminates fire accidents, provides external protection, extends equipment life, reduces maintenance costs, maintains higher efficiency, and ensures quality power.
Powermatic products are recognised in the UAE market and abroad as top quality product for its performance, packaging, and low RMA. All Powermatic products follow a strict quality management system based on ISO 9001-2008 standards and the utmost care Micro Automation provides to exceed customer expectations.
