Dubai, August 5th 2012: My-HD Media is a Dubai based Satellite-TV platform offering an exciting wide range of HD channels to audiences in the Middle East and North Africa. My-HD Media has recently announced a strategic long-term partnership with MBC Group to distribute all 7 MBC HD channels; the agreement is the first step of upcoming expansions that represent a considerable opportunity for both MBC and My-HD to significantly upgrade consumers' viewing experience.

Viewers who purchase My-HD approved receivers or viewing cards will be able to enjoy MBC 1, MBC 2, MBC 4, MBC Action, MBC Drama, MBC MAX, and Al Arabiya News Channel, for free, in High Definition available on both Nilesat and Yahsat.

My-HD is the first Satellite-TV platform to offer all MBC HD channels on a large number of leading HD Digital receiver brands such as; Humax in the GCC, NHE in Kuwait, Dansat in Saudi Arabia, Lotus in Algeria and Tevicom in Morocco.

"We are happy to announce, that nearly one million MBC TV households who already own Humax HD receivers, (models IR1100HD, IR1020HD, IR2000HD, IR2020HD, iCORD HD+) can finally enjoy MBC's HD channels by purchasing a My-HD viewing card, available at Humax dealers and shortly in key Hypermarkets across the GCC i.e. Carrefour, Panda, Expert, Lulu and DG Sharaf." said Cliff Nelson, CEO of My-HD.

"We are excited about the combined value that the MBC Group and My-HD brings to viewers in the region.  The HD viewing experience is far superior to SD (Standard Definition) channels; the majority of homes already have, "HD" ready TV's but are not enjoying true HD content. Our goal is to bring the best HD experience to millions of MBC viewers and we are thankful to launch our platform in time for the holy month of Ramadan" Added Nelson.

"We take pride in launching our 7 HD channels on the My-HD platform, expanding MBC's ultimate HD experience to as many MBC viewers as possible", commented Sam Barnett, MBC Group CEO.

Barnett further highlighted: "As MBC expands its HD offering, we anticipate more viewers will upgrade their SD receivers for approved HD receivers. And as they do so, we anticipate reducing our SD channels. Ultimately the market is moving to an HD environment - but we do want to ensure that consumers don't purchase non-approved HD satellite receivers which will not be able to receive our channels".

Consumers can find a list of approved receivers and stores at My-HD.TV or MBC.net
