Muscat: Mazoon Electricity Company, the leading electricity provider in Oman, has successfully incorporated the well-known Lean Management methodology into its strategies and plans to improve. Mazoon Electricity started implementing the Lean Management methodology in 2018 which is a global strategy adopted by more than one institution in the Sultanate of Oman.
The methodology is related to streamlining operational processes and avoiding waste in various fields, thus conducting business with less effort, resources and cost.
Mazoon Electricity has been applying this methodology in its work course and disseminating it as a culture among its employees and stakeholders in general.
The streamlined management methodology aims to raise the efficiency of the company's internal management processes and to optimize the resources available to serve customers, improve operational cost, enhance quality and ensure that time and resources are not wasted.
The incorporation of the streamlined management methodology at Mazoon Electricity is aimed at continuously improving the company's approach in adopting best practices in its business including areas of occupational health and safety, in asset management operations, information security and other operations.
In this context, Mazoon Electricity is training some engineers and employees in the lean management programme to enhance their ability to recognize the waste of time and resources and to simplify operations as a result of the implementation of this programme.
It should be noted that there are 11 projects in several technical and administrative areas such as human resources, tender and contract management, which are currently implemented in Mazoon Electricity, where the concept of lean management is being incorporated. The levels of performance in these projects by applying the concepts of lean management are assessed.
While Mazoon Electricity operates a large asset system and relies heavily on these procedures to provide outstanding service to customers, the company's keenness to provide this service with high quality, speed and lower cost will serve the overall objective of the company.
