Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Manchester Business School, which has a Middle East Centre in Dubai Knowledge Village and supports over 1,200 MBA students in the region, has retained its triple MBA accreditation after successfully undergoing an audit by AACSB which subsequently renewed the accreditation for another five years.
MBS is one of a relatively small number of business schools globally that are accredited by three external organisations (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA). The School recently hosted the AACSB accreditation team - the Deans of UCLA and Babson Business Schools in the US, and IESA in Spain - as part of the normal five-year review cycle.
AACSB International--The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is a global, nonprofit membership organization of educational institutions, businesses, and other entities devoted to the advancement of management education.
Professor Michael Luger, Dean of Manchester Business School, commented: "Accreditation is important to MBS and external reviews are always helpful in providing a reality check of what the School is doing and we wanted this prestigious peer group of Deans to leave with a sense of how very good MBS is. The School has been advised that MBS has been re-accredited for another five years, with no conditions or reservations. But just as importantly, the report praises MBS for its many achievements and improvements these past five years."
About AACSB
In 1916, AACSB International was established as a membership organization for business schools--a place where business schools could network and discuss issues that affected the business education industry and their institutions. Today, the AACSB Accreditation Standards are used as the basis to evaluate a business school's mission, operations, faculty qualifications and contributions, programs, and other critical areas. AACSB accreditation ensures students and parents that the business school is providing a top-quality education. It also ensures employers that AACSB-accredited business school graduates are ready to perform on day one. Additionally, AACSB accreditation provides many benefits to the faculty and staff at its accredited schools by attracting higher quality students, providing greater research opportunities, and allowing for global recognition.
