A personal photo processing center ideal for both traditional and digital photo output
-- Personal photo studio unlocks the power of digital imaging with Lexmark's first All-In-One featuring camera card slots, flexible flatbed scanner and PC-enabled one-touch photo reprinting --
Lexmark International has launched the Lexmark P3150, its first All-In-One with built-in digital camera card slots. This powerful, easy-to-use tool meets the needs of all consumers looking to generate, replicate and share photos. On-board camera card readers enable digital camera enthusiasts to quickly retrieve images and generate brilliant borderless 10x15cm and A4 prints, while the 48-bit flatbed scanner allows users to easily incorporate traditional photos into their digital worlds.
“The P3150 offers consumers access to a similar breadth of features as a photo processing kiosk found in retail stores – but in the comfort of their own homes,” said Robert Kikano, Managing Director of Lexmark M.E. Distribution & Marketing E.C. “With direct camera card slots, the P3150 was engineered for digital camera owners and allows them to not only enjoy their digital snapshots, but also better preserve and share their traditional photos.”
Marketing research firm InfoTrends Research Group recently announced findings that indicated sales of digital cameras would nearly replace the sale of reloadable film cameras by 2008. Michelle Slaughter, Director of InfoTrends' Digital Photography Trends service stated, "The shift to digital photography will be nearly complete by 2008 due to advancing consumer adoption of a wide range of consumer digital imaging solutions.”
A personal photo studio
The P3150 complements virtually all digital cameras, supporting CompactFlash I & II, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Secure Digital (SD), MultiMedia (MMC), and Microdrive memory cards. Digital camera owners can insert memory cards into the unit directly, and within minutes edit, save and print their photographs. The P3150’s flexible flatbed scanner captures the finest detail, with 48-bit color depth and 600 x 1200 pixels per inch (ppi) optical resolution – offering customers the opportunity to convert traditional photographs into digital pictures.
Lexmark’s integrated Photo Editor software ships with the P3150 and allows users to perform commonly sought-after image editing:
