Doha, Qatar - December 20, 2009 - Lagoona, Doha's newest address for extraordinary shopping, has partnered with Canadian design firm, Pappas Design Studio, to create a one-of-a-kind luxurious, service-oriented environment that reflects the sophistication of the Qatari consumer. This new up-market retail and lifestyle shopping experience introduces a new philosophy in style and mirrors the exclusivity of Lagoona's exclusive address in Doha's West Bay.

Lagoona's state-of-the-art shopping and entertainment experience will feature 170 shops, 15 restaurants, two feature courts, 51 East's new two-storey, flagship store and over 51,000 square meters of retail shopping space on two levels. The shopping center conceptualizes a contemporary, yet classic, approach that features Sapele mahogany wood, Turkish marbles, antique English brass and Mother of Pearl shell textures alongside "jewelry" lighting fixtures, custom-made lighting designed exclusively by the Pappas Design team. These beautiful, tactile materials and design components complement the stream-lined elements inherent in the building's sleek design to create an iconic level of luxury never before seen in a Doha shopping center.

Designed to set a new standard for the glamorous and sophisticated lifestyle shopping experience, Lagoona brings together all the elements of style to create a timeless elegance and luxurious, service-oriented environment. The development is designed to create more of a luxury hotel experience and was inspired by Lagoona's neighboring Zig Zag towers. This emblematic building is represented within Lagoona in complementary skylights that incorporate extraordinary zig zag glass panels as an homage to the tower's silhouette.

One of Lagoona's most striking highlights is its 20,000 square meter European plaza. The piazza itself will be a one of a kind in the Gulf, with a spectacular water feature bordered by 15 restaurants offering culinary sensations that will surpass the expectations of the most discerning connoisseurs. It will quickly become a popular meeting place in Doha and an ideal entertainment venue hosting sophisticated, fashionable events that will truly be unique.

Mr. Ronald Dinelle, General Manager of Lagoona, said of the development's design, "Lagoona is very different from other shopping destinations in Qatar because of the design quality and materials we integrated. Pappas Design is one of Canada's leading retail design firms specializing in the design of shopping environments and they had an in-depth understanding of Lagoona's brand from the start. Each component of their concept reflects the sophisticated tastes of the Lagoona customer while making Lagoona very efficient to move around. Each element has come together to create something utterly brand new in this region."
