Abu Dhabi, March 19, 2012 - Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) announced today that it has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 quality certification by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA). The designation is an internationally recognised standard for quality management systems that recognises Kizad's commitment to exceeding customer and regulatory requirements for delivery, compliance and excellence in the provision of customer management services.
The ISO 9001 certification was awarded to Kizad following a successful audit of the company's management system by LRQA. Mr. Basem Obaid, LRQA Middle East and Africa Area Manager, presented the certificate to Mr. Khaled Salmeen, Executive Vice President of Industrial Zones ADPC, in a ceremony held at ADPC's headquarter offices in Abu Dhabi.
In achieving ISO 9001 certification, Kizad has demonstrated its commitment to international standards of customer service, value based processes management, well defined roles, responsibilities & communication channels, contract reviews, corrective and preventative action when required to ensure sustainable business performance.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Salmeen said:
"As we move closer to the official opening of Kizad in Q4 2012, it becomes ever more important to build quality management processes that accommodate the needs and expectations of an increasingly sophisticated and well informed business community. The ISO 9001:2008 certification confirms the quality of the process management systems we have put in place as we present our proposition to potential customers and tenants, and we are honoured to have been recognised with this award."
"The ISO 9001:2008 standard for quality management systems has become a framework for managing and assessing organisations against accepted management best practices, to help them achieve their objectives and to better serve their customers. Many major purchasers now require their suppliers to hold ISO 9001 certification, so this will stand Kizad in good stead as it emerges as a key player in the industrial marketplace where customer demand high quality services. We are delighted to award Kizad with ISO 9001 certification and we look forward to working with them to achieve both of our objectives."
Today's announcement follows Kizad being awarded the prestigious ISO 10002:2004 in September 2011 for its customer feedback management system, which began with the appointment of a dedicated customer service and quality assurance team who are responsible for receiving and immediately dealing with any complaints received.
