Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA), Muscat, Oman Chapter recently held a seminar at Ruwi Novotel on SMART CARD TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS. The seminar was sponsored by BUSINESSONE (An STS Company), Dubai, U.A.E., a well established IT Solution provider in the Middle East.
Ms. Stevi Lowmass, Business Development Manager of BUSNISSONE made the Presentation. Ms.Lowmass is an EFT Specialist and has been actively involved in this field in a senior capacity for many years and has extensive knowledge of ATMs and Electronic Payments. She is an ex-Director of Payment Systems Europe.
The presentation included: the rationale for migrating from magnetic stripe cards to the Smart card, distinctive features of Smart Card Technology, and its applications. The presentation captivated the audience.
The presentation was extremely well received by the members, as wll as by a number of guest attendees from banks and IT organizations in Muscat. The event witnessed a record attendance, nearly 100 attendees including members and non-members who benefited from this quality program.
ISACA Muscat Chapter (www.isamuscat.org) is sponsored by the Institute of Banking & Financial Studies. It is a non-profit organization having over 140 members and helps interested candidates in preparing for the Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) exam, and regularly conducts quality educational activities for the benefit of its members. The membership includes IT, Audit, Finance, Security and other professionals representing varied organizations, thus providing an excellent opportunity for networking and exchange of information.
