Intertec Systems, a leading Systems Integrator in GCC, UK & India, recently bid farewell to four of its interns from the Bits Pilani Institute, Dubai. The paid internship scheme offered to these students was a 5 and a half months' programme, which was designed to permit university students in their penultimate year an opportunity to gain hands on work experience.
Intertec believes that an internship is the pinnacle for an undergraduate's education and gives a chance to use the skills learned in the classroom in a real-world setting. It's a chance to prove the worth of the qualifications and to show how an individual can perform in the given role. The main objective behind initiating these internships is that students will significantly increase their knowledge on Intertec's business sector, which will enable them to make career choices. Also, this leads to their completion of graduate and/or professional level education.
Each of these interns were associated with different Group Divisions within the firm, which were Marketing, Application Services Group & Systems and Networking Group in the Dubai office. During this programme, each student was assigned to a Senior manager as mentor. Assigned different departments, the interns had opportunity to work on projects at a client's office, work on reports and presentations or shadowing Intertec's staff from different disciplines within the firm. At the end of the 5 and a half months' programme , the Interns were awarded with a certificate of appreciation by the Managing Director, Mr. Naresh Kothari. Intertec has opened doors to many such promising students from different universities. The next batch of Interns will commence in the 1st week of February 2012. Students who possess the zeal & vigor and possess a drive to work passionately are welcome to apply for the next internship program in September 2012.
"Intertec aims to support informed career choices through diverse as well as quality oriented internships that are open to all students to apply for. By using the time to develop new skills and deepen their appreciation of commercial issues, students will be able to use this experience to enhance their skill set and employability." explains Ms. Hensa Bhatia, HR Manager, Intertec Systems LLC.
