Gaming Competition Kicks off Everyday with Intel Core 2

Duo Based Laptops for Prizes

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 19, 2006 - Intel today announced its sponsorship of the gaming zone at Dubai Internet City's (DIC) Community Zone at Gitex 2006, boasting a video gaming competition to take place on a daily basis. Intel will offer winners with prizes that include five laptops powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the fastest and best processors in the world. The competition will run every day for the duration of Gitex, upto Nov. 22, 2006. 

"It's not about playing the game -it's about dominating and winning the game. Designed for extreme power, the Intel Core2 Extreme processor for desktop PCs features the latest arsenal of performance-rich technologies, including up to 4 MB of shared L2 cache and up to 1066 MHz Front Side Bus," said Samir Al Schamma, Intel General Manager, GCC.  "Gitex attendees entering the competition will experience the future of PC gaming now, and only from Intel."

Exhibited at the booth from Intel will be a F1 racing car.  Intel has become last year "Official Corporate Partner" of the BMW Sauber F1 Team since January 2005. Intel and BMW have been collaborating heavily on the IT technology and marketing side as our brands are very synergistic. With Intel as Official Corporate Partner of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, the Intel brand will reach hundreds of passionate fans during Gitex this year - fans who appreciate the critical role that technology plays in Formula One.

The Dubai Internet City Community Zone at Gitex 2006 is located in Concourse 2, between Exhibition Hall 8 and the Sheikh Maktoum Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
