• Highly-lucrative market skills such as Photoshop and Sketchup will be offered by industry-leading professors.
  • Top-performing candidates will receive a full-paid scholarship for a 10-week design program.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates—Inscape Education Management recently announced an initiative to extend a helping hand to UAE  job-seeking residents who have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 global pandemic by offering a free-of-charge, professional-grade Graphic Design training course, which includes building skills with industry-leading professional programs, Photoshop and Sketchup. This philanthropic move is aimed at upscaling design candidates’ existing skills to new fields within Graphic Design, Interior Design and Fashion Design, amongst others. The free design workshops will take place in December of this year, with six open spaces in each batch - in line with COVID-19 social distancing measures - where the selection criteria will be based on applicants’ resumes outlining previous work within the design industry, past exposure to the design and creative fields, and a valid UAE residency stamp.

Inscape Education Management is Dubai’s latest prestigious design institution, situated in Dubai Design District, a hub which hosts several annual fashion and design festivals and is home to a multitude of creative houses. The institution is a state-of-the-art design facility specialising in skills training within the design, creative, and commercial professions. Hailing from South Africa, Inscape has presented excellence in education by design for more than three decades, a key factor to the company’s recent expansion to the UAE. At the hands of its qualified professionals, Inscape has carefully crafted all of its courses to fit the demands of its students in a continuously developing industry, and strives to facilitate holistic learning to help individuals develop their full potential when it comes to the creative arts and design.

The free Photoshop and Sketchup workshops will take place on the 5th, 12th, and 19th of December this year, respectively, at the d3 campus or online through the Microsoft Teams application. After completing the free Graphic Design workshops, Inscape will then provide the top-performing candidate from each workshop an opportunity to join their 10-week online certificate course in Graphic, Interior, or Fashion Design paid in-full by the institution. Candidates interested in enrolling for the free workshops must bring their own laptops with them to the workshop.

“We are hoping to grant a new lifetime opportunity to people without a current job placement by boosting their design career prospects through our latest free online and on-campus training workshops - offered to the selected candidates - which will be tailored to their skill needs and preferred learning methods,” said Mornay Schoeman, Dubai Campus Director at Inscape Education Management, on the occasion of the institute offering the free design workshops programme. “Skills development within the creative industry is Inscape’s passion, and we hope to play an impactful part in leveraging local residents' market skills and help them land new job opportunities, particularly during these challenging [Covid-19] times,” added Schoeman.

On a wider scale, Inscape’s unique teaching style aims at training candidates to have strong problem-solving skills within design thinking methodologies, enabling them to process and generate real-life solutions with confidence. Training not only takes place after working hours, providing working professionals with an opportunity to acquire new skills when it suits them - earning while learning for immediate impact within the workplace - but also offers morning and afternoon course schedules to suit all those who want to step into the exciting world of design and creativity.

The institution boasts modern and fully-equipped studios to provide students with a stimulating learning environment, hosting a variety of resources required to complete their learning. To provide students with the most personalized learning experience, the institution enforces a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:10 at most and utilises real-world training and projects for students to apply what they have learned within and beyond the classroom walls. In parallel, Inscape offers a blended learning experience via virtual and on-campus classes for a majority of its courses.

Inscape’s variety of subjects focus on a range of design aspects across digital, fashion, interior design, and communication. Individuals who wish to study these design concentrations can select to participate in short courses, certificate courses, masterclasses and software training; ranging from three to six sessions or four to ten weeks.

The institution's flagship programme includes its 10-week certificate courses in Graphic Design, Interior Design or Fashion Design, as well as its Advanced Certificate in the Business of Design. The certificate courses are offered at a fundamental (level 1) or advanced (level 2) learning option to ensure students are equipped with the necessary skills and training to excel.
