Localization of Peugeot 206 parts and components and also domestic production of this car is a part of positive effects of international sanctions on Iran.
In a visit to Seventh Tehran International Auto Parts Exhibition, Mir Javad Soleimani, IKCO Vice-president in quality and product development said, "IKCO aims to produce 500 totally domestic Peugeot 206 this month. The company plans to increase this amount to 300 units a day by next month."
Soleimani referred to the localization of ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and electronic components of cars as part producers' great achievements under the sanctions.
The Vice-president underscored that IKCO's new plans will cut down the reliance of its cars to foreign sources by 50 percent in next six months.
He finally said that IKCO car producers are currently calcified in A and B grades and the quality of their products are at the level of European producers'.
