Abu Dhabi: Doctors region-wide still have the chance to participate in two, world-recognised medical courses at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Abu Dhabi next month (April 2012), according to Hammersmith Medicine's, Professor Karim Meeran.

He said that interest for the two coveted MRCP courses (Membership of the Royal College of Physicians) is high but that there is still a chance for medical practitioners to register.

The two programmes, MRCP 1 and MRCP 2, are scheduled to take place at ICLDC's Lecture Theatre for three days, starting April 1. Both courses are endorsed with 21 hours of HAAD-accredited Continued Medical Education (CME).

The programmes will be presented by Professor Meeran, along with Dr John Chambers and Dr Amir Sam. All three doctors are specialists with Imperial College London.

Previous courses held at ICLDC have received positive feedback, with one delegate saying that it was the one of the best courses experienced in three decades. Another endorsement noted that the most complex of topics were very well explained.

Professor Meeran said that one of the key hurdles for doctors-in-training is passing the MRCP exam. "We want to give full support to doctors and from this year we plan to host MRCP 1 and 2 three times a year in Abu Dhabi to complement the exam timings."

The MRCP 1 and MRCP 2 courses from Hammersmith Medicine will be held at ICLDC on April 1-3 2012, August 12-14 2012 and on November 18-20 2012. Registration can be made online at www.icldc.co.uk or at cme@icldc.ae or Tel: + 971 2 404 0870
