Events, hosted by Expo Center Sharjah, witness the participation of more than 170 public and private institutions

Under patronage of HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, officially inaugurated on Wednesday, the 19th National Career Exhibition and the 13th International Education Show, concurrently organized at Expo Center Sharjah.

HH Sheikh Sultan was received by Sheikh Khaled Bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, Sheikh Faisal Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and industry (SCCI), Brigadier Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, General Commander of Sharjah Police, HE Sultan Abdullah Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department, HE Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadem, Member of the Executive Council of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources “SDHR”, HE Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City, HE Abdulaziz Hamad Taryam CEO Advisor and General Manager Etisalat Northern Emirates, and a number of officials and directors of government and banking institutions.

Touring the pavilions of both exhibitions, HH Sheikh Sultan learned about the job and training opportunities offered by the institutions participating in the National Career Exhibition. He also reviewed the latest programs and services provided to students by the academic institutions taking part in the International Education Show across a wide range of study areas and educational levels.

The National Career Exhibition 2017 is organized in collaboration with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies (EIBFS) and has the support of the UAE Armed Forces as a platinum sponsor, Sharjah Islamic Bank and Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation as golden sponsors.

Also supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Education UAE, the International Education Show sponsored by Ajman University as a platinum sponsor.

HE Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadem, Member of the Executive Council of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources “SDHR” stressed the keenness of the Government of Sharjah represented by the Department of Human Resources at the National Career Exhibition, to exert all efforts to provide career-driven opportunities to Emirati citizens, in line with the innovative guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah and Chairman of UFI’s MEA Chapter, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, stating that His Highness’s auspicious patronage of the two major events embodies the keen interest of the UAE’s visionary leaders in supporting the innovative initiatives and programs that enable Emirati citizens to be international leaders. The events provide job opportunities that ensure a decent, prosperous living for present and future generations. Moreover, HE Al Midfa explained that the patronage reflects His Highness’s belief in the importance of enhancing the quality of the educational process to provide the Emirati labor market with a highly-qualified national manpower trained using the world’s latest, most advanced educational methodologies.

Al Midfa also thanked HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for the directives and unremitting efforts aimed at ensuring the success of both exhibitions based on the thoughtful attention paid by the Government of Sharjah to the recruitment programs that focus on employing Emirati national talent and to the issues of knowledge and improving the educational system to reach the highest possible levels.

Al Midfa pointed out that Expo Center Sharjah is hosting both exhibitions simultaneously due to the high correlation between the output of the educational process and the demands of the labor market in terms of human capital and knowledgeable national work force able to assume the responsibility and work towards achieving the goals of comprehensive development in line with the Sharjah’s vision that considers the emirate’s human capital and educational process fundamental cornerstones to social and cultural development and building a bright future for the people of Sharjah and the UAE.

The National Career Exhibition

Running until February 17th, the National Career Exhibition has become one of the UAE’s major and most successful employment events. This importance is underlined by the great attention it attracts from public and private institutions, as well as the Emirati youth looking for job opportunities that suit their skills and capabilities.

Established to bridge any gap and overcome any obstacles that hinder communication between fresh university graduates and governmental and private institutions, the National Career Exhibition facilitates employment, training and skill development opportunities for the UAE youth and provides guidance and counseling to help the youth choose the career that suits the needs of both the society and the labor market.

The exhibition is witnessing the participation of more than 70 governmental and non-governmental entities, including 15 banks, 10 insurance companies, 2 exchange companies and 30 government institutions. Al Nabooda and Sharjah Book Authority join the exhibition for the first time with the aim of encouraging Emiratization in all sectors.

The National Career Exhibition 2017 will welcome visitors from 10:00am – 8:00pm on the 15th and 16th of February, and will only receive visitors from 4:00 – 8:00pm on its final day, with special visiting hours dedicated on Thursday, for ladies from 10:00am – 2:00pm.

The International Education Show

With Ajman University as the platinum sponsor, more than 100 national, regional and international educational institutes will participate in the International Education Show. Exhibitors include universities, colleges, higher education institutes, commerce and business schools and technology institutes, as well as and administrative training centers, language institutes and aviation centers from across the globe.

Some of the Emirati educational institutions taking part in the International Education Show are the Emirates Aviation University, Fujairah University and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, in addition to the Cromwell Foundation from the UK, Future Abroad, the University of Calgary, the University of Waterloo and Heriot-Watt University and Joramco Academy, Sunway University, as well as My Aspiration, Education Institute and First City University College from Malaysia.
