Hurghada and Alexandria Hotels Join Partnership After Successful 2013 Launch

Cairo, Egypt - April 7th, 2014

Hilton Worldwide is delighted to announce the expansion of its partnership with The Egyptian Food Bank to now include four more Hilton Hotels & Resorts hotels from Egypt, adding their goodwill and expertise to the program dedicated to supporting less fortunate local communities.

Newly opened Hilton Alexandria Corniche together with three hotels in the resort city of Hurghada - Hilton Hurghada Plaza, Hilton Hurghada Resort and Hilton Hurghada Long Beach Resort - have now signed a protocol to join the Egyptian Food Bank initiative, following in the footsteps of the company's recent success in Cairo.

Hilton Worldwide initially launched the Egyptian Food Bank campaign in June 2013, with Cairo based hotels, Ramses Hilton and Conrad Cairo, and, to date, the two hotels have donated over 4,000 meals to local, needy families.

"Hilton Worldwide is committed to supporting the communities in which it operates and our partnership with The Egyptian Food Bank has been a proven success over the past year." said Christian Muhr, Vice President of Operations for Hilton Worldwide Egypt & Levant. "We believe it worthwhile to not only continue our efforts but to expand the project further and include more hotels in more cities. I am personally delighted at the success of our partnership with such a worthy and commendable cause."

As part of the partnership, Egyptian Food Bank worked with Hilton Worldwide's food and safety specialists to develop strict health and safety guidelines.  The partnership included staff training programs for the management and handling of food as well as developing a comprehensive operational manual for all staff involved in the project to clearly define the essential criteria needed for the initiative.

Jarrett Beaulieu, F&B director, Hilton Worldwide, Egypt & Levant said: "At Hilton Worldwide, we understand the gravity of the issue of hunger across the world and hope that our efforts can have a positive impact on our local communities. Our continued work with the Egyptian Food Bank and the addition of more properties to the initiative stands as a testament to our sincere faith in the good work undertaken by this great organization," said Jarrett Beaulieu, the Regional Director of Food and Beverage for Egypt, Levant & North Africa.

The Egyptian Food Bank currently helps feed more than 180,000 families across the country every month.
