Rrenaissance Deira to be rebranded Crowne Plaza as part of a planned US$ 55 Million Dollar refurbishment
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement with Mohammed & Obaid Al Mulla LLC, to take over the management of a 281-bedroom hotel in Deira, Dubai. Currently operating under the Marriott's Renaissance brand, guests will wake up to a new experience in the newly branded Crowne Plaza Dubai-Deira hotel on 1st March 2011.
Recently voted No.1 upscale brand by the US Hotel Chain Survey, Crowne Plaza is now considered the world's fastest growing upscale hotel brand offering discerning business and leisure travellers high levels of comfort and excellent service in a vibrant atmosphere.
Commenting on the signing John Bamsey, chief operating officer for IHG Middle East & Africa said; "The Crowne Plaza brand is a dynamic international hotel brand that is on the move. This is our third Crowne Plaza in Dubai and will add more choice for the 56 million members of our global loyalty programme Priority Club Rewards. The facilities and location of Crowne Plaza Dubai-Deira make it a great fit for the Crowne Plaza brand - being in the heart of Dubai, close to popular heritage sites such as the gold and spice souks, Al Bastikiya heritage village and key business districts where banking, government and ministries are located. It is also within easy reach of Dubai airport."

Its nine function rooms are newly refurbished in a striking contemporary design and fitted with the latest technology, offering a flexible and creative space for any meeting, conference or social event.

Crowne Plaza Dubai-Deira, features 37 Suites, 41 Clubrooms and 203 Deluxe rooms. Upon completion of the planned renovation, the hotel room count will increase to 302. The hotel already has a newly renovated health club, a temperature controlled swimming and whirl pool plus sauna and massage facilities. There are also six, well-established, food and beverage outlets offering a great variety of international food and entertainment.
IHG operates 388 Crowne Plaza properties in more than 50 countries and a further 123 hotels in the global pipeline. It's the fourth largest upscale hotel brand in the world and is situated in major urban centres, gateway cities, and resort destinations.
