Dubai, UAE: The General Civil Aviation Authority of UAE (GCAA) achieved five ISO Certifications for its Integrated Management System: International Standards of Quality Management ISO 9001:2008, Environmental Management ISO 14001:2004, Occupational Health and Safety OHSAS 18001:2007, integrating Information Security ISO 27001:2005 and IT Service Management 20000:2005 which were developed in compliance with the requirement of PAS 99:2006.

The ISO certifications included all GCAA operations and units such Air Navigations and Aeronautical Information Services, Aviation Safety and Security, Airworthiness, flight Operations and Licensing, Investigations and Regulations, Strategy & Corporate Excellence, Administration, Finance, HR, IT, Corporate Communications and Customer Services.

This achievement is credited to GCAA's focus in adopting and implementing the best global standards and practices for its operational excellence, customer satisfaction, social responsibility and innovation to ensure business effectiveness and efficiency of Civil Aviation in the UAE.

Mr. Omar Bin Ghaleb Deputy Director General of GCAA, and Mrs. Laila Bin Hareb received the award by Mr. Brian Baxter, Lloyds' UAE Manager, on 10th March 2011 in Dubai.

"Achieving five ISO certifications by implementing an Integrated Management System is a proof of GCAA's commitment towards achieving its strategic vision of providing a high level and measureable quality services." Bin Ghaleb said.

"This certificate demonstrates that GCAA embraces the values of operational excellence, customer satisfaction, social responsibility and innovation. GCAA is committed to integrate these values in every aspect of its business operations in order to ensure safety and quality of industry services, ethical corporate behavior, employees' welfare and environmental commitment". Bin Ghaleb added.

Laila Bin Hareb, commented on this achievement saying: "This achievement demonstrates the success of the organization's strategy and commitment to enhance aviation services and increase safety standards anticipate global aviation trends and help mature regional aviation operational systems and enhance its oversight function".
