Manama, Bahrain: Global Banking Corporation B.S.C. (c) (GBCORP) today announced new appointments and promotions, to its existing team. The appointments include Mr. Ahmed Al Mahmood, as Shari'a Reviewer within the Shari'a Supervisory Board, Mr. Laeeq Ahmad Hussain as Head of Internal Audit and the promotion of Ms. Fatima Al Banna from Assistant Manager in Human Resources at GBCORP to Manager of Human Resources and Administration in GBCORP's affiliate group Global Real Estate Development Co. [GREDCO].
Commenting on the appointments, Abdul Monaim Al Bastaki, the Chief Operating Officer of GBCORP said, "These appointments are part of GBCORP's initiatives of strengthening its human capital to leverage on emerging opportunities and ensuring that we continue to deliver on our commitment to our investors, shareholders and all stakeholders. Prior to joining GBCORP, Mr. Al Mahmood worked as a Shari'a Auditor for Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Al Baraka Islamic Bank. He holds a B.Sc. in Islamic Studies from the University of Bahrain.
Mr. Laeeq Ahmad has joined GBCORP with 14 years of experience, in organizations such as Ernst & Young in Bahrain, Albaraka Islamic Bank, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Hailey College of Commerce - Lahore Pakistan and Certified Internal Audit from Institute of Internal Auditors - USA.
Ms. Fatima Al Banna, worked for the Arab Insurance Group (ARIG) prior to joining GBCORP as a Recruitment Specialist. She is a certified CIPD from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Practice, UK and holds a B.Sc. in Finance from NYIT and a diploma in Banking and Finance from the University of Bahrain. She also holds various Insurance certificates from BIBF, and a DipCII from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.
