13 February 2016
In an event organised under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, SNCF Group's iDPASS app won the award for "best mobile government service" in the "transport and infrastructure - international level" category. The iDPASS app brings all of the mobilities that SNCF is developing around rail travel--car-pooling, car-sharing, chauffeur-driven cars and more--into a single system, facilitating seamless door-to-door journeys.

A Passport to the new mobility

The World Government Summit prize awarded to IDPASS was accepted by Karim Chaiblaine, head of SNCF subsidiary and mass transit operator Keolis for the Middle East.

The app was launched in 2015 by SNCF Voyageurs, the French rail group's passenger division.

The award highlights SNCF's innovative flair and capabilities in transforming journeys into a seamless, more enjoyable experience. It is also raises SNCF Group's profile in Dubai, in the UAE and in the region, emphasizing the Group's long-term commitment and local presence for its subsidiaries.

The iDPASS mobile app is a key part of  SNCF's door-to-door program, offering customers simple access to a range of alternative transport modes before or after taking the train. With iDPASS, they can book car-sharing, car-pooling, and chauffeur-driven car services in advance, using their smartphone, making end-to-end travel a reality.

BREAKING NEW GROUND

With iDPASS, SNCF positions itself as a "shared mobility leader" providing alternative transport modes in major French and European cities on its own, through partnerships, and through acquisitions.

Barbara Dalibard, CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, said, "I want to thank His Highness and the organisers of the World Government Summit for giving SNCF's IDPASS its 'Best Mobile Government Service' prize. At SNCF we aim to double shared mobility between now and 2030, and to do so we are developing door-to-door solutions that can be customised by each and every passenger before and after their rail journey."
